Eugene, OR Family Vacation 2008

We had a wonderful vacation in Oregon. We went out for the Olympic Track and Field Trials. Matt's brother Adam has been training out there for the past 18 months. Due to an akilies tendon injury he was unable to compete, but we all enjoyed our time out there regardless. Oregon is a beautiful state and we feel that we saw a lot of it, but I am sure there is much more to see. Enjoy the photos!

Colin and Grandma and the trials
Hiking to the natural hot springs. The other people there were a little too natural for me.

Colin and the Anderson's Puppy! They were both exploring one another.

Our adventures on the sand dunes!

View off of the deck!

This was the home we stayed in - thanks to Adam's connections out there, we stayed in luxury.

Birthday Weekend!

Happy Birthday to Colin!Colin's First Present from Stacy and Dave

We went to dinner Friday night and this is what they gave Colin...what were they thinking?

Colin certainly enjoyed being outside for his party!

Enjoying his birthday cupcake

Not too interested in the presents

We visited Colin's gorilla friend yesterday at the zoo. Colin still didn't really notice him. He was more interested in people watching!

We had a wonderful weekend with family and friends. Matt's parents and sister came down for the festivities and many others joined us for Colin's party. Colin will be catching up on sleep this whole week! He goes for his 1 year appointment today at noon.
At 1 he is starting to walk, saying many words, enjoying Savannah much more than before, and still sleeping like a champ! We really enjoy watching him change and grow.

Birthday Month

The storms lately have been crazy.
We caught a photo of one that was heading our way last night.

Matt and I joined a golf couples league. This is what it involves - we drink and Matt and I hunt for our lost balls!

This weekend Colin will turn 1! We have had so much fun this year with him and can't believe the first year is over. Colin LOVES remotes, buttons, tv's, etc... We can not keep him away from the tv remotes or the dvd buttons. He has learned how to open and close the dvd player and take out a dvd. He gets really upset when we are watching anything but Baby Einstein. He is starting to walk - taking about 6 steps at a time. He is VERY trusting and usually nose dives the last step. This weekend Matt's family will be here for the big birthday celebtation. We will certainly have photos up next week.

This month we also celebrated Colin's cousins birthdays as well, Grant and Kate.

Lake of the Ozark's

Colin and his new friend Delaney. Delaney and her cousin helped with Colin all weekend.
Don't worry, we were still in the dock during this picture. We didn't just let him crawl around the boat.

Matt and Colin enjoying a quiet morning on the lake.

Colin was so tired the boat put him right to sleep. He took an hour nap while mom and dad skied.

I had never seen Matt ski, I was very impressed! Those summers in Wisconsin certainly paid off. He was showing off for everyone. Colin missed most of it though, since he was sleeping.
We are so grateful that the Esterling's invited us to their home. We had a wonderful time at the lake. Colin did a great job and everyone was very helpful with him. He was not in the mood to sleep much though, Mom and Dad were awake before 6 each morning. We got home at a reasonable time yesterday, just enough time for Matt to mow the yard and me to unpack. It was a fun Memorial Day Weekend.

A Weekend Outside

New Texture to feel and lick!
Colin's hair is going to look like this anytime we are outside...this is the result of sunscreen.

This weekend the whole family spent the majority of our time outside. Matt and I did yard work while Colin enjoyed the weather. Savannah finally realized that Matt and I were too busy to throw the Frisbee for her so she started to take it to Colin. This wasn't good, because Colin thought he should put it in his mouth too! All and all a good relaxing weekend.

Mowing the Yard

Colin took his first ride on the lawn mower the other day. He enjoyed it and did not want to get off!

Take a closer look at this one....he has Savannah's tongue

The hundreds of toys just are not as fun as the blinds!!!
Colin turned 11 months old on Monday. He is on the verge of walking, but gets every where he wants to. He loves music and likes to sing along with songs. He eats anything and everything! We have been able to go outside a lot more lately. He enjoys the grass now and likes watching Savannah fetch. We are going to do swimming lessons in June so he can get familiar with the water.

Sun, Finally!

Colin wasn't too excited about the grass. It took him quite a while to warm up to it. Once he realized he could pull it out..... It went into his mouth!!!
Colin likes to rub his face on Savannah as if she is a stuffed animal.

Standing on his own!!! Soon we shall walk.
